The TDL Basics intends to provide the audience in an operational, technical, project, staff, or any other capacity a short view into the Tactical Data Links realm. The course is at an introductory level and will, in approximately 6 hours, cover the purpose of a TDLs, what TDL’s mean to the warfighter, which TDLs exist, the wide spread use within the different armed forces, but also the challenges with regard to interoperability. During the presentation, several operational examples will be provided. Additionally, sessions on various TDLs are provided for a global understanding of the technical specifications, use-cases and operational scenarios. The day will finish with a view into the future and trends with TDLs.
